   Btw, in Firefox 3 on Mac, you have to go to: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/searchplugins

   find the google.xml file, add <param /> to the parameters section (if you want english as default language) as well as replace {moz:locale} entries to the required language setting.

   Post cannot show my lines correctly.

   If you want to have the Google search box in Firefox always giving results in English, you need to modify the file “google.xml”, part of the Firefox installation.

   ---

   First of all, close every Firefox instance.

   Open the folder “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins" by clicking Start, then Run, in the Open box type the folder path and then click OK.

   Copy the already present file “google.xml” to “google1.xml” in the same directory “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins".

   This is to keep a copy of the original Firefox installation, in case you need to revert back to it.

   Open file “google.xml” with Notepad.

   It would look like as below but the long key string for the “Image” tag can be different per every Firefox installation.

   To make English the default language for search results, you need to add the below line to the “Param” list.

   <param />

   The file “google.xml” modified will look like below.

    That’s interesting - I’ve got the problem the other way around - I want Firefox to show German results but it always redirects to com / us-US -> &rls=org.mozilla:en-US

    So I will do some xml editing - but anyway this is strange because there are dynamic parameters in the xml that should show the country results you are in “value=”{moz:distributionID}:{moz:locale}:{moz:official}” - mkay,

    To change the default search engine in the location bar:

    Type “about:config” in the location bar and press enter/go. Search for the “keyword.URL” preference. Tap on the preference to change the value. (For example, change google.com to google.com.br) brasil

    I am English speaking, and adopt my Google seek after-effects to be from google rather than google.fr if from France. pass4sure EC0-350 But anniversary time I use the Firefox seek box, pass4sure HP0-D08 from a French IP, Google redirects to the French site, and I mostly end up with French results, pass4sure HP2-Z07 if I would adopt English results.
